January in numbers...

Lucy Pendrick is The Whispering Wild... an amazing Somerset-based needle sculptor, creating beautiful creatures with a tale to tell & a song in their hearts! Her sculptures are truly magical & this month, we meet Lucy for the first time to chat about her work, life & the inspiration behind the unique characters she lovingly handcrafts. It’ll be full of imagination & we can’t wait!

Fancy having a go at something new this new year?  Well, over the past few months we’ve been trying out lots of creative workshops, so we can share ‘six of the best’ in Somerset with you! From soap making to loom weaving, you can read all about our faves on the blog this month… & it might just get you in the mood to have a bash at something completely different. Bring it on, 2018! 

On the 13th we’re going to see ‘Reclaimed’, the latest offering from the guys at Wassail Theatre. It’s inspired by the 2013-14 Somerset floods & is set in a fictional Somerset village, under siege by rising waters. Wassail Theatre created the awesome Somerset Charabanc last year, so we’re really interested to see their brand new show. We’ve got a feeling it’ll be powerful & emotional.

First they gave Somerset one of our favourite pubs The Sheppey, & now Mark & Liz have taken over the pub formerly known as The Full Moon at Rudge. We’re popping along to ‘The Moon’ later this month to check it out, so fingers crossed it’ll be a second Somerset cool favourite. We hope so, as we celebrate the blog’s second birthday this month so you know... all the twos & that! ;)
