Happy 30 years, Somerset Art Works!

It's that time again... Somerset Art Weeks, organised by Somerset Art Works, is back. And what's more, it's 30! Now that's a landmark and a half.

I absolutely love Somerset Art Weeks… 16 glorious days of being immersed in some of the best art the county has to offer. It's also a chance to get out and explore, isn’t it? To grab a guide or look online, and plan your route around the county with creative stops along the way. Whether it’s ceramics, sculpture, painting, printing, photography or performance, there really is something for everyone to enjoy… and this year, I've been in Exmoor and West Somerset. I've been chatting with some of the artists taking part, finding out more about the significance of the theme, Landscape: Flux and Flow, and creating two wonderful 'Heart of the Art' shows for you to listen to. If you fancy hearing some big-hearted and inspiring conversations, just head to Be Somerset Radio and press play!

I've been covering Somerset Art Weeks and sharing recommendations and conversations with you for 9 years now, and every year I feel inspired before, during and after! Do you feel the same? I'd love to hear where you're visiting and your reaction to the experience in 2024. Please do let me know on Instagram, and if you want to check out the guide online and pick out the places you want to head to, that's right here.

Happy Somerset Art Weeks, one and all!
