Somerset music, Alex Lipinski

Weston-super-Mare's Alex Lipinksi is three albums into his career and his latest, 'For Everything Under the Sun', promises to be his best yet - that's what Alex tells me when we chat on 'The big night in' on BBC Radio Somerset.

His new record will be released in February and on the show, Alex shares what it was like working on the album with Wolf Alice and Elvis Costello producer, Michael Smith.

Alex feels like he's approaching his songwriting from a wider perspective this time round too, although it's still very personal, and he's got a new label behind him - Mi Casa Music. The label's been created because festival impresario, Lee Martin, and live music legend, Iain Robertson, really wanted to make sure Alex's songs were heard, rather than just stay fans of the music. Now that's some endorsement.

We also chat about what it's like making music with Bonehead from Oasis and about the praise Alex has had from the likes of Liam Gallagher and Evan Dando. We play his new single, Groundhog too. That's out on November 19th.
